Goat Island “Chivo’s” sits opposite of the El Faro Lighthouse at the Port of Mazatlan. It gets its name from the fact that a lot of goats live there and have done so for many many years. It’s an awesome place to hang out, get some lunch at Cerro Los Chivo’s Restaurante, take a hike up to the top, or out to the end of the jetty where the ships sail in and out. There’s a great little beach in front of Rocio’s Cerro Los Chivo’s Restaurant. Perfect for the whole family and the food at the establishment is unbelievable. Cruise ships come in and out of the port several days a week. Some of the passengers find their way across to the special little island.
This drone video was taken on a hike to top one morning. An excellent place to watch the sunrise, or sunset depending on what time of day you’re visiting. If you’re in the area of Mazatlan, be sure to find your way over to Chivo’s for some great food and a couple beverages. A memorable experience is guaranteed.
