Fall Scenes of North Idaho & the Pend Oreille River

The Inland Pacific Northwest offers some awesome scenery and fall colors this time of year. Here are some views of the Pend Oreille River and the North Idaho Panhandle. The Phantom 3 is delivering everything promised in function and has unlimited fun potential too. I got some golf course shots this week but am going to re-shoot as the sun did not cooperate the day we were there. Next week should give us some better shots to contrast these to and I’ll post em up when I have something really nice.

I decided to put some of my own music (cover of Neil Youngs’ “Down by the River” actually ) but I’m having some fun with that too. Nothing professional of course but I enjoy playing and shooting drone video also so what the heck. Hope you enjoy the little video and stay tuned as I’ll be heading for Mexico in a few short weeks and will be sharing footage from the Mazatlan area.

Still Shots With the POLAR PRO UV n3 lens

Here are a couple stills of some fall colors in my neighborhood. This is my first time trying these UV lenses and I can tell you right now that they add alot to the shot. I’m going to use them at a golf course tomorrow and I’ll be posting some video and stills of that soon with a review of the lenses. STAY tuned !!

Are Drones Getting A Bad Name ?

It seems everyone you mention the word drone to these days has some bad news they’ve heard to share with you. Mostly from the news media and print about idiots that have used this awesome new past time with multitudes of useful applications and benefits. There’s no doubt the phenomenon has gone mainstream and there’s always a few jokers and wisecracks to exploit the cool things the technology does now. Here at followthisdrone.com I condone only the safe, sane and legal use of the drones and quadcopters. The applications are really limitless and as the popularity grows, the regulations will follow and so will the mis-use and negative applications. Quite frankly, most of the young guys that see me flying mine invariably make the comment about using it to spy on the neighbor ladies right? Somehow that’s what they think the things were invented for. It’s kinda strange being that they could just turn on their computer and get all of kind of stuff they want. But it’s the novelty of a new way to be a perv I guess. Anyway, I wanted to bring the topic into focus a bit and lend support to all the positive aspects of flying drones and getting cool aerial video and stills. I’m planning to take the phantom 3 to Mexico next month and will be sharing some aerial footage from south of the border. I’m still practicing with the Holy Stone 180c and finally starting to get some of the nuances of flying smoothly down. The muscle memory can only be perfected by DOING the practice. It’s a really fun journey too so if you interested….just go for it !!!!!

Again, the Phantom 3 is much easier to fly but starting with the Holy Stone 180c toy quadcopter is the way to go before making the investment.  Here’s to flying Safe, sane, and legal !!!
