Took delivery today of the phantom 3 drone. GPS controlled with 1080p video and 12 megapixel camera hanging on a gimble. I’ll be studying up and working with the simulator to perfect flying skills …….then this baby is going up in the air !!
Here’s a short video at the park. Got a couple hundred feet up and lost a motor shortly after so it’s repair time for the practice unit. I’ve found the Holy Stone quad copter to be pretty tough and have beat it up pretty good over the4 last couple weeks. The Phantom 3 was shipped this week so that’s going to be taking precedence with my time. I want to keep the HS F180c in working order though so as to keep practicing with and for others to start learning with. The wind really grabs this super light unit so keeping a level flight view is near impossible with any breeze at all. It’s a blast though and this little toy can be really fun.
Skills are getting much better now. Really having fun with the learning with the Holy Stone quad copter with hd camara & video
Day 9 and things are getting a lot easier with the Holy Stone toy quadcopter with HD camara that I’ve been using. There has been some great frustration and some great advancement in ability. I can now do the + sign and am starting to get the “yaw” function down some too. It’s a difficult maneuver because the brain has to figure out where the back of the copter is and operate accordingly. It’s just a blast and getting more fun all the time though. I’m still awaiting my Phantom 3Â with gps and hopefully it will ship soon. Here’s a video with the latest skills….. not great yet but a far cry from where I started.
Well I’m at day 7 of the 10 day drone pilot practice course and things are coming along fairly well. One thing I’m finally getting down is the “holding” position which really gave me trouble with the toy quad-copter.
Maneuvering is getting better and I’m starting to be able to practice the “yaw” exercise now that I’m getting the unit to hold in one position on a horizontal plane. I have about an hour or more a day in the practice ( quite a bit more than the 20 minute recommendation). I guess I just need more hand eye co-ordination practice than others might but I’m having a lot of fun with the practice and looking forward to getting my Phantom 3.
More video to come soon.
